I lived back in those days. The kids' parents' put a lot of pressure on them to NOT like music by Blacks which was clearly the future. Don't forget, this is a scene from a movie which was staged by producers and directors from Hollywood who wanted to appeal to white kids but not offend their parents. I was 4 when this song came out and it always has been one of my favs. I have seen L.R. 3 times. He is the true King of Rock n Roll because he invented it!!!
