Many of you are being nostalgic about a time before your time. Oh yeah, you would have had a blast at the festivals, but when those cops with the flat-top hairdos jerked you out of the van, then all the bliss would have faded. Most flyover states didn't even play your music on the radio. I was a kid then, and I remember all the adults hating on hippies. I mean they hated them. Those hippies had the sense of purpose about their festivals, because they felt a need to come together.

Man, Woodstock. What a great place to be in a time like that. Even to this day, it's amazing to just go up and sit on the field. Didn't get to go up this summer, but went last summer for the 40th anniversary. What a great time. Wish I was around in the 60's to actually go to Woodstock. Love it.

Life is too easy now. We have far too much. back then when people were earning less money, they had so much more life in them!!!!!!!!!!! They made happiness through no money. getting together in the countryside, rockin' in the free world! But now if you take an X-box away from a kid he will go crazy. Thumbs up if we should go back to the old way and bring back hippies.

@hayleeep that was a great time of expression and upheaval and joy and sorrow and LIFE for our country. It was a simpler time but yet, for those who were thrust into 'that' war, we really did not respect what they unjustly had to do.. It was a volunteer army but it was also a DRAFTED army and for those poor souls, they had their youth taken from them. PEACE and LOVE and MUSIC are blessed things, but all that joy was on the backs of all that sorrow. Hard to look at a Vietnam Vet. America.

While PEACE and LOVE and MUSIC are blessed things, we took our joy on the backs of all that sorrow that was happening at the very same time. Amazing.America.
